Founded in 1997 by Thomas Cushing in order to create Kate Spade Paper. Libretto happened to be Kate Spade’s first license which was a blend of illustration and fine leather goods combining Kate’s signature fabrics and leathers. This definitely gave the social stationary industry something to talk about. Since then the brand has expanded its horizons by creating several stationery and accessory collections, under license for leading European design and fashion brands which include Christian Lacroix papier, The New York Times, Lotta Jansdotter, The Victoria & Albert Museum and Architectural Watercolors to name a few. The ethos behind Libretto is to make social stationary fun, inspiring and amusing.
